Maybe it's silly to keep updating this page ( some 7 years after the fact, for those keeping score ), but I like doing it, I convince myself that there are people who still check it ( my e-mail affirms this fact, ocassionally ) and this website is still sitting on the servers of a job I left almost 4 years ago. I might not be so vigilant if I had to pay for server space, but as long as it's getting hosted for free, why not?

A few things:
1. We have a Myspace page.
2. I had a kid (technically, my girlfriend, now my wife "had" her ) on December 4, 2007.
Her name is Lily.
She is awesome.

We all got together last September in Minneapolis. We sat in Ryan's living room and played a bunch of songs, made a bunch of inappropriate jokes and generally had an awesome time. It was the first time the five of us had been in a room together in over six years.

Just so we're straight:
1. Me ( Michael ) Austin, TX - 1 kid
2. Brian - Lubbock, TX - 2 kids
3. Ryan - Minneapolis, MN - 1 kid
4. Lynn - Midland, TX - 2 kids
5. Scott - Portland, OR -2 kids

Seven years later, eight kids, three states.

Any questions?

Five years. Wow. I looked up the other day and realized it's been FIVE FREAKING YEARS. How crazy is that? We are all doing well, it's just.....wow....five years. I had the distinct pleasure of having dinner with an old friend of the band, Chris Busch, when I was in Washington D.C. . He lives there now, went to law school at Georgetown, the whole nine yards. My rambling point being, it's crazy how people that we used to just hang out with at shows and became friends with are all "grown up" now. It's weird. Anyway, as I've stated before all the MP3s in the listen section are working. Tell Scott Crader that taking this long to finish his record is a little much and to get with the program. He's running a studio in Lubbock now, so if any of you need some recording done, talk to Scott.

take care,

-Michael

The MP3s in the listen section are finally all working correctly. Keep in mind that it's an ongoing project, but the ones that are there are all working correctly. Feel free to email me with any questions.

Still working on putting stuff up in the listen section. Sorry for the delay, I've only had four years to try to get my shit together. I promise it'll happen, I just don't know when, but I'm working on it.

Where are we now?

Me ( Michael ) - Austin, TX

Ryan - Hastings, NE

Lynn - Midland, TX

Scott - Lubbock, TX

Brian - Lubbock, TX

While still in the works, you can check out the listen section of the site. Sorry it's taken so long to update. Everyone is doing well. If you're so inclined, take the time to bug Scott and tell him to finish his album.

Something is really, really wrong with the MP3s on the "listen" section of the website. I'm working on getting them fixed as well as putting up some new stuff. Sorry for the hassle. Have a happy Thanksgiving!

I updated when Scott and Kristi had their baby Zoe, but then something evil happened with the server and the update was lost. So, to catch you up, Scott and his wife Kristi are the proud parents of Zoe, a beautiful baby girl. So, everyone has fruit of their loins but me ( Michael ). I do have a dog now. She showed up on my back steps in the pouring rain in true pathetic fashion. Her name is Daisy. She likes to chase squirrels and eat poop. Paradise for Daisy would be a field of poop with frolicking squirrels. Scott's little girl Zoe is beautiful and, to the best of my knowledge, doesn't like eating poop and is ambivalent about squirrels. Ryan came and visited from Nebraska and recorded some Indian flute music at the studio. There's nothing like a man and his flute. Nothing. Pictures below.

It's been awhile since the last update here. In the BIG NEWS department, Lynn and Shannon had a beautiful baby boy ( Noah Jackson Holdridge ) on December 12th. He was 8 lbs 2 oz. and has some BIG feet. Scott's album has been at a bit of a stand-still in the last month or so due to the busy schedule at the studio. Rest assured, though, it's WILL get finished and I still think the songs are incredible. A few of you have e-mailed me to say that some of the MP3s aren't working for you. Keep in mind that I'm one of those weird Macintosh people and everything seems to work find on my Mac. I'd suggest "right-clicking" on the link ( for those of you with TWO mouse buttons and (ack!) Windows ) and "Save File As" or whatever your wicked PC tells you to do. If the MP3s are STILL not downloadable, e-mail me and we'll figure something out. Hope everybody has a good Christmas.

Scott's album is coming along SLOWLY but surely.
When you put me (Michael) and Scott in a room together, we end up spending most of our time talking and smoking cigarettes. I think we've had the same conversation approximately ten thousand times. Regardless, everything is sounding great, we've gotten some friends to play on it ( 'cause me and Scott can't play bass, piano or drums worth a damn ) Lynn's playing drums, our friend Amy Faris (from 100 Love Sonnets) has been kind enough to play piano and Rhodes on some songs, and our friend Karl is playing bass. I'm still playing in 10 K Drive and we're recording when we can. Other bands have been in the studio and with Scott's ongoing rock-opera we haven't had alot of time to really devote to recording. We do, however, have some shows coming up in June and a tour in July. Brian, Ryan & Lynn are alive and well and everything seems to be peachy. I think that's it for now.

Seven years, 3 albums and over 500 shows. We've decided to call it a day.
Not the easiest decision any of us have ever made but the time has come to
move on to other things. We're all still the best of friends, there were
was no screaming and yelling, no "musical differences", this was a unanimous,
group decision between the five of us.

As far as the next album is concerned, it's fate is still up in the air. The songs
have been recorded and Brian is still mixing them. It may or may not be pressed,
but we will make the music available, at the very least, online.
If you placed an order online, it's been cancelled and your credit card WASN'T charged.
If you bought a CD through pre-sales, there's a check on it's way to refund you.

Keep checking back here, the site will remain active to let you know what the
five of us are up to and news about the CD. The merchandise
section will remain active and you can still order the previous 3 CDs online.

Thank you all for your kindness and support over the years.
It never went unnoticed.

We apologize for the brevity of this message, but we're all still a little shell-shocked
ourselves. Please feel free to e-mail us at mail@spillingpoetry.com.

thanks,
Spilling Poetry
